I am so thankful that families have multiple safe options for their birth location in Iowa. Homebirth can be a safe and empowering option for families with low-risk, healthy pregnancies! In Iowa, both Certified Professional Midwives (CPMs) and Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs) are legally recognized to attend births, ensuring families have access to skilled, professional care in the comfort of their own homes.
Studies show that planned homebirths with qualified midwives result in fewer maternal interventions while maintaining positive outcomes. It’s important to interview different midwives/midwifery groups to find the right fit for your family. All new moms and babies are welcome to join us for New Mom`s Social Hour on the First and Third Fridays of each month at Waukee Wellness! 10am-11am at 710 SE Alice`s Road, Waukee (same building as The Coffeesmith and Fit and Fierce 515.)
