Meet Katie, Owner & Doula
Katie shares…
Hello! I am the owner of The Iowa Baby Lady and have loved serving hundreds of families throughout Central Iowa as a labor doula, postpartum doula, and childbirth/new parent educator.
In 2019, I accepted a senior leadership position with an international childbirth organization called CAPPA. I worked on training doulas, writing curriculum, and working to improve birth around the world as the Senior Advisor for Labor Doula Programs. This meant that I was no longer able to take as many local clients as I would like since I was often in other parts of the country.
The Iowa Baby Ladies Team is something I am very proud of creating for families in Iowa. Our doulas have all been professionally trained (most likely by me!) and hold very high professional standards when working with our clients. I know you will love working them!
Finally, I absolutely LOVE working with our families too! If I can provide extra answers, do your car seat checks, be your childbirth/new parent instructor, or help in any, please feel free to contact me.

Meet Victoria, Admin. Assistant
Victoria shares…
Hi! My name is Victoria and I was born and raised in Missouri. I attended Missouri Western State University from 2014-2018 where I received my Bachelors degree in Health Science, as well as my certification as a Patient Care Tech. I moved to the Des Moines area about 2 years ago and worked as a PCT on both the trauma floor and maternity floor at Unity Point Methodist. I have always had a passion for helping those in need, as well as helping others live a healthier life.
In my experience as a tech, I was able to work closely with both mothers and newborns. I did everything from vitals, helping assist doctors during circumcisions, baby’s first bath, blood samples, running labs, assisting during emergency situations, etc. My position was very hands on with the babies, as well as helping both nurses and doctors. Cuddling all the babies in the nursery was definitely my favorite part! I learned a lot during my experience in the healthcare field and am excited to learn about childbirth from a different point of view.
