I remember just how tough those first months can be with a new baby! I was tired, lonely, and really missed my social time. This is why Shannon Lee (Blessed Births and Beyond) and I started this New Moms Social Hour in Waukee. We wanted to create a space where new moms can come together and chat about all things motherhood! And of course, we will have coffee from our local coffee shops available too. There is no fee to attend this event.
While all new mothers are welcome regardless of your feeding methods, we want to share that both Shannon and I have lactation certifications. We are happy to help answer questions and provide breastfeeding assistance if we can. We will have a baby scale available during the group time if you’d like to do a “Feed and Weigh”. I also recently bought a breast pump suction tester so bring your pump if you’d like to see if it’s working at its maximum level too!
We have a private space in the back room of our office space with a rug, floor pillows, blankets, boppy pillows, chairs and more. At this time, we would encourage you to leave your older children at home. Unfortunately, we just don’t have the safe space for them in our group space.
Who: Any new mother and their baby under one year of age–they do not have to be newborns! Twins are welcome too. We have extra hands for extra support snuggling! If you would rather leave your baby home, you’re welcome to attend without them too.
What: A relaxed, laid-back group where new moms can offer their compassion to other new moms and share what’s going on in their lives.

When: The first and third Fridays of every month
